Wednesday, August 2023: – The second Annual Networking Night organized by the Somali Bankers Association (SBA) in Mogadishu was a successful event. It brought together senior executives from leading banks, fintech firms, insurtech representatives, government officials, and financial experts in Somalia. The event aimed to provide a platform for networking and relationship-building within the country’s finance industry.
The Networking Night facilitated insightful discussions and interactions among the participants, allowing them to gain a better understanding of the current financial landscape in Somalia.
The presence of notable figures such as CBS Deputy Chairman Dr. Ali Yasin Shiekh Ali and government officials added to the event’s significance. Over 130 individuals, including CEOs and founders of member banks, attended the event, which was primarily attended by business elites.
During the event, SBA BDeputy Chairman stressed the importance of establishing closer and more engaging relations among the participants. SBA CEO Yasin M. Ibar highlighted the networking opportunities offered by such events, encouraging participants to connect with their peers, explore new ideas, and initiate collaborations with industry leaders.
In his closing remarks, Central Bank of Somalia Deputy Chairman Dr. Ali Yasin Sheikh commended SBA for its efforts in promoting a well-connected banking sector in the country.
